Description: "The congregation was organized in January, 1887. Church erected in 1888, and dedicated by Most Rev. Archbishop Elder, Agusut 4, 1889. The building is a neat two-story brick, the first floor being used for the parochial school and residence of the teacher. Commencing in April, 1888, the congregation was attended by Rev. A. E. Drufner, then pastor of St. Charles Borromeo's Church, Carthage, who also superintended the erection of the building. Father Drufner said the first mass on Easter Sundy, April 21, 18889. The present past, Rev. B. Dottmann, was appointed first resident past May 12, 1889. The congregation numbers 100 families."
