Description: "The novitiate of the Franciscan Ssiters has been at St. Clara's Convent, Third and Lytle streets, for over forty eyars. Long ago it was evident that this place was becoming unsuitable for such a purpose and that a site away from the busy turmoil of the big city would be most desirable, aye, imperatively necessary. Accordingly, a tract of land was securedi n Hartwell, one of Cincinnati's beautiful suburbs. A more charming location could not have been found. The north wing of the spaciousnew buildign is now almost completed and will be used in a few months. The building has a frontage of 367 feet, with the north wing 267 feet deep and the south wing 154 feet deep. The novitiate serves as a school to educate and train the novices for hospital nurses, and at the same time is a home for the Sisters who have sacrificed their health and strength to this work of charity and are unable to actively engage in the hard and trying work of nursing the sickl. Sister Desideria is the Provincial Superioress.
